  • Iowa Assessments standardized testing will take place this week (starting on Mon. 3/5). Parents are reminded to send their children to school with at least three sharpened Number 2 pencils with good erasers. Students should eat a good breakfast, and get a good night's sleep. Best of luck to all students! (Reminder: the Iowa Assessments standardized testing program has replaced the TerraNova testing program.)
  • National School Walkout Day - in honor of the one month anniversary of the tragic school violence in Florida, our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will participate in a prayer service outside OLS School on Wednesday, March 14. We will stay outside for 17 minutes to honor the victims of the tragedy. Parents are invited to join the prayer service. Read More --->
Congratulations to the OLS Forensics Team!

On February 20, the OLS Forensics team - Carolin Checo, Molly Donohue, Dagmara Karbownik, and Caroline Schmidt - competed in the Mount Saint Mary Junior High Forensics Meet, along with over one hundred girls from grammar schools in the region.

The team was also given the opportunity to watch three of the Mount’s award-winning team members each present a piece they were preparing for the Nationals in Washington, DC. One of these students was an OLS graduate, Christina Appiah, Class of 2015.

Our seventh grader, Carolin Checo, came in Second Place in the largest and most competitive category - Prose. And, our three sixth graders, competing in this meet for the first time, scored very well. Congrats, girls!
